Business Development Organisation of Rendsburg-Eckernfoerde

The InProReg project provides WFG Kreis Rendsburg-Eckernförde (WFG) access to current technologies and processes. WFG shares this knowledge and the cross-border contacts with regional companies and institutions. Together with the local economy, WFG initiates automation projects and workshops to exchange experiences. The results of InProReg are included as best practice in the development strategy of the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde. New industry contacts form the basis for further German-Danish cooperation and strengthen the competitiveness of the economic area.

The Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Kreis Rendsburg-Eckernförde (WFG) supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing industry, among others, in growth projects, technology transfer, support programmes and the development of international markets. As a partner in the KielRegion’s specialist network, WFG helps companies to qualify and secure employees. It connects SMEs with industry partners and external experts. The WFG is an active member of the cluster organisations Maritimes Cluster Norddeutschland and windcomm Agentur Schleswig-Holstein. For the local economy, WFG organises industry events and technology transfer events with its cooperation partners. These include universities, the Kiel Chamber of Commerce and Industry, business associations, the chambers of crafts Schleswig-Holstein, development banks and other public partners. The WFG operates two start-up centres in Eckernförde and Hohenwestedt. The WFG manages the Kreishafen Rendsburg and is a shareholder in the heavy load port Rendsburg Port as well as in the Kiel Region GmbH, which carries out the regional management for the districts Rendsburg-Eckernförde, Plön and the state capital Kiel.
